Penzance Beach Saved!

Mounts Bay

There is much joy to report this morning as news has reached us that the historic battery rocks beach in Penzance has been saved from development!

There was outcry last year from local residents when a scheme was proposed to build a ferry terminal over Sandy Cove, the historic beach by Battery Rocks in Penzance. The views from this beach across the world famous and instantly recognisable Mount's Bay, are uninterrupted, and the thought of any development at this site was abhorrent to say the least.

For now, at least, sense has prevailed. The abundant wildlife can continue to live on the beach, and local people and visitors can continue to enjoy the town beach and rock-pools without the fear of it all being completely destroyed.

Thanks to everyone who helped oppose this disastrous scheme, including Heritage Action, Save the Holy Headland and PZ News. The voice of the people has been heard!

So glad to hear another beautiful, natural spot has been preserved!
